Nearly a thousand children descended on the Nelson’s Dockyard on Thursday, July 19th for a day of exciting fun and learning.
The occasion was the annual Children’s Adventure Day, organised by the team members of the National Parks Authority to create awareness about the Dockyard and its history in an entertaining atmosphere.
And indeed that it was.
The children were taken on tours by our tour guides to Fort Berkley, while others were led on learning activities like the Nelson’s Treasure Hunt to secret places in the Dockyard.
For the first time, traditional kite making was introduced and Calvin Pilgrim, who organises the annual kite festival at Devil’s Bridge, was on hand to share his knowledge with eager kids.
Games galore and entertaining activities kept the children preoccupied for the entire day, leaving them with their appetites for a memorable day’s out well satisfied.
Next year promises to be even bigger.
