ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA SPORT FISHING TOURNAMENT
The Antigua Barbuda Sport Fishing Association is a lively, vibrant crowd of fisherman who fish for the pure enjoyment of it, and once back on land, love to party.
The Annual Sport Fishing Tournament which take places during May or June each year at Whitsun, starts with a launch party a few weeks prior to the event, followed by a Friday evening Captain’s Briefing, two days of fishing, and the final tournament award launch on Bank Holiday Monday. Even if you are not a fisherman, this is an enjoyable event.
The Francis Nunes Jr. Memorial One Day Fishing Tournament is held in Nelson’s Dockyard in September.
ANTIGUA CHARTER YACHT SHOW
The Antigua Charter Yacht Show is the largest Charter Yacht Show in the world and signifies the official start of the yachting season not only in Antigua and Barbuda but in the Caribbean generally. Yearly up to 100 vessels converge on the Falmouth Harbour Marina, Antigua Yacht Club Marina and the Dockyard Marina . The show attracts some of the most prestigious yachts in the world.
ANTIGUA CLASSIC YACHT REGATTA
One of the most renowned Classic Races world wide, the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta takes place every April, just before Antigua Sailing Week and is hosted by the Antigua Yacht Club.
The whole regatta has the feel of a bygone era with sleek lines and trim sails. The yachts take part in a nautical fashion show in the Parade of Classics, where they glide through English Harbour and show themselves off.

ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK
Over the last two decades, Antigua Sailing Week has developed into one of the biggest events in the World Sailing calendar, as well as one of the most fantastic times to visit Antigua. The racing is hard fought and hotly contested. The staggering number of yachts in tight quarters at the start of a race is something to behold.

THE CARIBBEAN STYLE YACHT CUP
Organised by the Superyacht Cup team from Palma, Mallorca the Antigua event runs for 4 days with racing on 3 days and a full programme of social activities for everyone. The beautiful setting of Nelson’s Dockyard is the perfect place to center the social activities and moor up all the yachts together and it provides the perfect environment for enjoying the Caribbean hospitality and the famous Superyacht Cup parties.

The Fincham’s Follies is an annual variety show which takes place during the Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting.

RORC CARIBBEAN 600
The RORC Caribbean 600, as the name suggests, is a 605 mile race around the Caribbean islands. The RORC Caribbean 600 starts and finishes in Antigua and the competing yachts pass 14 magnificent islands in the central Caribbean. Some of the best sailing grounds in the world are blessed with stunning scenery, including the remote cliffs of Saba, the white sandy beaches of Barbuda and the twisted volcanic rock faces of Montserrat. The turquoise sea, blessed by the Trade Winds, produces exhilarating sailing conditions and whales, dolphins and turtles are a common sight. By night the competitors race in warm breeze under a carpet of stars, seldom seen with such clarity.
CHRISTMAS DAY CHAMPAGNE PARTY
Every Christmas day from midday English Harbour residents and visitors gather in the Nelson’s Dockyard around the Capstan for a huge Champagne Christmas Day Party. The funds from the party go towards a worthy cause, and a great time is had by all.
NELSON’S PURSUIT YACHT RACE
On Old Years Day, the last yacht race of the year takes place. Organised by Antigua Yacht Club visitors are invited to take part in this exciting and fun race. Click here for more information.
OLD YEAR’S NIGHT FIREWORKS PARTY
Old Year’s Night (or New Year’s Eve) sees hundreds of people flocking to the Dockyard for a fantastic party with live band, lots of drinks and at midnight wonderful fireworks from Fort Berkeley light up the sky and the sea all around.
